Every detail has a meaning

Linde+Larsen was established in the area of Norrebro, in the city of Copenhagen 20 years ago, and started with 2 employees. Today, 20 years later, Linde+Larsen has grown into Scandinavia’s largest manufacturer of cases and boxes with foam solutions. But one thing is still as it was 20 years ago: Every detail has a meaning. Therefore it is time to update the Linde+Larsen logo.

When Linde+Larsen started, the market was long-term packaging solutions, which was visible in the old logo.

Today, the largest market is specially designed packaging solutions for companies, but with an increasing demand of short-term packaging solutions as well as foam for other purposes.

Together with the subsidiary NordicFoam By Linde+Larsen, Linde+Larsen has been able to meet the great demand from a market that needs packaging solutions that are specially designed as well as foam for technical use.

In 2020, Linde+Larsen launched the subsidiary NordicFoam By Linde+Larsen, which is a manufacturer and supplier of foam, technical foam solutions within sound-absorbing materials, thermal insulation, gaskets, seals and more.

Today, more than 40% of the total turnover of the company is foam, which is not mounted inside a case.

To maintain the core value “Every detail has a meaning”, Linde+Larsen has designed a new logo with the text “PACKAGING SOLUTIONS AND DESIGN” to emphasize that we do not only produce long-term packaging.

The logo for NordicFoam by Linde+ Larsen has also been renewed a bit, and we have added a hexagon to the logo to symbolize that we work with foam plastics.

“If you enlarge foam, the cells will be hexagonal, both in terms of closed cell and open cell foam and therefore we have just chosen to use the hexagon in the NordicFoam logo”.

“It is important to us that our value Every detail has a meaning is reflected not only in our work but also in our logo. Personally, I believe Every detail has a meaning and this is one of the reasons behind our growth.

Meet Antonio Berntsson, one of the men behind your Linde+Larsen solutions.

Antonio started up at Linde+Larsen in 2019 and became our Sales Manager in Sweden.

Antonio has worked with the Swedish market and waterproof cases since 2008, and his great work was noticed by the founder and director of Linde+Larsen Henrik Linde. Henrik headhunted Antonio, who continued his good work. Among many other things, Antonio has signed large agreements with the Swedish police on specially designed packaging solutions for crimes and storage of evidence.

Antonio, what are you most proud of having achieved in your time at Linde+Larsen?
“I am very proud of the wide customer base and rising turnover that we (as all departments of the company) have built up together in Sweden under my project management. From R&D, Production to Warehouse. Also in being part of the process of broadening our range, where we can offer total solutions from idea, to design to tailor-made finished products”.

Antonio, what is your view on the Linde+Larsen journey? – development, relocation, Nordic foam etc.
“It is fantastic to be part of this growth journey that Linde+Larsen has been in, despite the current pandemic and which is accelerating as markets return to more normal life.

NordicFoam by Linde+Larsen is part of our broadening of the business. Where we more clearly channel the heart in our business, which is converting foam to technical solutions.

Our move from Soeborg to Roedovre was another necessary part of the strategy, to grow further. I look forward to showcasing our nice new factory to customers as soon as possible. It will be a well-invested visit for them”.

Antonio, what do you see as the biggest challenge at Linde+Larsen?
“The biggest challenge has been the global challenge like all companies feel regarding transport and supply chains of products that are in demand by customers. Project management becomes much more difficult due to several different external factors and makes it difficult to plan and optimize production. At the same time, we are increasing sales sharply. But as a team and with efforts from each department and individual, I think we have done incredibly well to serve customers in time”.

Antonio, where do you see yourself and Linde+Larsen in 5 years?
“Then I see that we have steadily and annually increased sales further towards the Swedish market and I have more employees who work with me to process the Swedish market. It is a long country and the need of Linde+Larsen’s services is potentially great”

At Linde+Larsen, we are confident that Antonio’s vision for the future will become a reality. Antonio manages to create good customer relationships and sales pitches in Sweden. Furthermore, Antonio is also good at creating opportunities in new markets for Linde+Larsen I Sweden….. And a nice Swedish guy with a Spanish dust of winning temper.

Welcome to Chris Minh Doky

Linde+Larsen is the leading manufacturer of long-term and short-term packaging solutions in Scandinavia.
We have more than 30 years of personal experience in converted foam for all types of interiors and other technical purposes.
Based on our experiences, we advise on materials and design of projects within any industry.

NordicFoam by Linde+Larsen is a part of Linde+Larsen where we primarily work with foam for technical solutions.
“We always produce in the highest quality, and our creative solutions are always delivered at a competitive level. We work to be the ones that others are looking for to find inspiration.

To show and tell more about who we are, we will in the future work with different ambassadors who have the same requirements, values and professionalism as us,”.

hris Minh Doky – The legendary jazz bassist, composer, and producer.

Chris Minh Doky comes from a Danish/Vietnamese musical family, and at the age of only 6 year, Chris started playing the piano. In high school, Chris found love for electric and acoustic bass, which has since become his living. Today, Chris is known for his warm and melodic playing, which he performs, on the international jazz scene.

Chris Minh Doky, one of the best ambassadors for jazz in Denmark, and at the age of just 52, he has already become a legend in Jazz.

“Chris Minh Doky is the jazz musician that most Danes know, even if you are not a jazz lover. Chris’ ability to share his love of music, and especially jazz, has undoubtedly made him the legend he is today. As soon as you meet Chris and/or hear his music, there is no doubt that he is a detail-oriented jazz geek who loves music and every single component. Nothing about Chris is left to coincidences, neither when he composes, produces, plays jazz or his equipment. That is why we are a good match, and we are pleased to be able to present Chris Minh Doky as our newest ambassadors,”.

The impossible puzzle.

“For over 30 years I have been touring all over the world with my bass, and I have had many different cases, and they have had several things in common – square, lack of detail and edge. My old cases were functional, and protected my beloved bass, but there was room for an upgrade,” says Chris Minh Doky.

Chris Minh Doky has previously had cases from Duchcases, which has since become part of the Linde+Larsen family, after Linde + Larsen acquired Duchcases in 2012.

“I have known Linde+Larsen for a long time, but I did not know that Linde+Larsen is a total supplier within cases. Linde+Larsen does not sell a square case with standard foam. Linde+Larsen is the first mover as a gear/case-maker, as I see it. Linde+Larsen and I have the same love for our work, we love to share our experience and the smallest detail is always well thought out ”, says Chris.

To Chris Minh Doky, Linde+Larsen has delivered several cases, and all reflect his love of detail and music. Chris’ case’s priority is to protect his valuable equipment, and at the same time optimize the space in his cases – all wrapped up in a nice personal design.

In 2020, Linde+Larsen expanded their business with Nordic Foam by Linde+Larsen, which designs and produces foam for technical solutions. In this way, Linde+Larsen can offer their customers a total solution in gaskets, insulation, simple foam packaging and specially designed cases in the highest quality.

“When I perform with other jazz lovers, there is a lot of equipment that has to be packed down after a big concert. I understand that the techniques that both set up and pack our equipment can be confused about which equipment is going where, because all cases are similar. After all, they collect a puzzle in the blind, which is both time-consuming and small things like plugs etc. get lost. But with my new cases it is easy because the techniques know exactly where my bass, plugs etc. are going, and both the techniques and I can quickly see if I am missing any equipment. As an extra bonus, my equipment is almost always packed down as one of the first, after I have my new cases, because it’s so easy,” says Chris, adding; “In addition to everything having a place, my cases have also been optimized. I still have the same equipment with me, but now I have smaller cases with me, because Linde+Larsen is picky about the details, and knows how to optimize any case”.

Chris Minh Doky – The boy with the coolest gear.

“Even though I’m 52 years old, I’m still a boy who wants to have the coolest gear. We all know that feeling, no matter what our passion is. After I have received my new cases, many of my wonderful colleagues have asked about my cases, because it is the coolest gear. I have worked with Yamaha for a long time, who also think that my new cases are super cool, and know Yamaha also know who Linde+Larsen is ”, says Chris

Linde+Larsen – First Mover with edge.

“It’s not only Chris who gets something out of our collaboration, we get so much positive feedback and inquiries through our ambassadors. The most important thing for us with our collaboration with Chris and our other ambassadors is to tell that we are a total supplier with an eye for detail and quality, and that we are a first mover who loves to add a little edge to the design “, says Thomas and continues; “We know that Chris will be happy with the solutions we have chosen together, and that this is the start of a long collaboration. We look forward to 2022, where Chris and his cases are fully booked with lots of concerts around the world. In 2022, Chris Minh Doky b.la. perform in Denmark, Asia, and the USA.

Both Chris Minh Doky and Linde+Larsen will share more photos and stories from their collaboration on their social media on an ongoing basis.

Work it out
The Art Museum of Modern Art Aalborg has great success with their exhibition “Work it out”, which focuses on the working life of the future. “Work it Out” won the Bikuben Foundation’s exhibition award, Vision 2018, for an exhibition idea that thematizes a highly topical topic, and at the same time rethinks the role of art and the art museum in relation to society.

In the Exhibition you will find “Build your Dream Job” which is a dissemination zone, where Linde+Larsen has delivered 6 different foam shapes. With the 6 different foam shapes, visitors can build their dream job.

Mette Boel from the Art Museum of Modern Art Aalborg tells; “It’s a project we started many months ago, and I started by cutting into my daughter’s old foam base and creating the idea for the foam shapes. Build Your Dream Job was intended for children and young people who could express their dream job using their imagination and hands. But we must realize that more adults also think it’s fun to build their own dream job with the 6 different foam shapes that Linde+Larsen has delivered”.

The 6 foam shapes symbolize a specific type of job, a way of working or an interest.

The Art Museum of Modern Art Aalborg places great emphasis on the fact that there are no right or wrong ways to build your dream job, which is also reflected.

“Some children build their own dream job by making an airplane out of foam and in this way, they express that their dream job is to become a pilot. Other “sculptures” are more abstract, but when you know the meaning of the foam, the message is quite clear. Among other things, I have seen children who have made a large sculpture with foam shapes, which symbolize technology and nature. Here, the message is as clear as with the airplane, and the imagination and hands have been given free,” says Mette Boel.

Work together
The collaboration between The Art Museum of Modern Art Aalborg and Linde+Larsen arose by network. The Art Museum of Modern Art Aalborg was recommended by several colleagues to use Linde+Larsen as a supplier of the foam forms.

I get so happy when we get inquiries via our large network, and especially when it is a task with edge, like this. With us, no task is too ordinary or uncommon. Our skilled development team can develop everything in foam for our customers”

Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg has received 6 different foam forms from Linde+Larsen, but Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg order turned out to be a mistake.

Mette Boel from the Art Museum of Modern Art Aalborg tells; “When we had to order the foam, we ordered extra, because we expected that the foam would break and along the way could not be used for some of the large, beautiful sculptures that are being built. The exhibition has been running since September 24, 2021, and a lot of sculptures have been built, and we have not replaced a single foam shape. There is no doubt that Linde+Larsen delivers foam of the highest quality, and we have without a doubt chosen the right partner for this project. Many of our visitors wants to buy the foam and take it home. It reflects the great success of building your dream job communication zone and the great job that Linde+Larsen have delivered. We did not expect this inquiry and have therefore not decided on whether we choose to sell the foam molds when our exhibition ends on January 16, 2022.

Meet One of the men behind your Linde+Larsen solutions

Ove Weiss is our Key Account Manager in Technical Solution. Ove has more than 25 years of experience in selling technical solutions for industrial products. In his +25 years, Ove has built up knowledge and has become a specialist in vibration, sound attenuation and protection.

Ove, what are you most proud of having achieved in your time at Linde+Larsen?

“Linde+Larsen is an innovative, inspiring, and solution-oriented company, with a good collaboration across departments, which I am happy and proud to be a part of. I am very much looking forward to developing the initiated collaboration with our new customers and establishing a good collaboration with new potential customers, so we can continue the growth at L+L”

Ove, what do you see as the biggest challenge at Linde + Larsen?

“The biggest challenge has been that we are growing so fast, and have grown out of the old production buildings, which has led to temporary challenges in delivering our products to customers on time. However, this challenge is solved by moving to new, larger and better production facilities”.

Ove, where do you see yourself and Linde+Larsen in 5 years?

“If we look a little further in time, I’m sure we have doubled our revenue. We have become more employees and we continue to be an innovative company that others look to find inspiration. Welcome to Martin Jensen.

To show and tell more about who we are, we will in the future work with different ambassadors who have the same requirements, values and professionalism like us,

Martin Jensen – a young man with ambitions
Martin Jensen is a talented DJ, and his name is known on the international music scene. Martin Jensen is one of the greatest DJs in the world, and behind a long list of hits. The biggest hit “Solo Dance” from 2016 has more than 800 million plays on Spotify at the moment.
“Solo Dance” has a top20 ranking as the most played song in the world on the music service Spotify and went top20 in 14 European countries.

His total music currently has over 2.5 billion streams, and his latest streamed online concert via TWITCH: “ME, MYSELF, ONLINE” on the roof of AKKC (Aalborg Congress & Culture Center) in April 2021 was followed by more than 1,5 million worldwide.
Martin is not only Denmark’s most famous DJ. He is one of the top 50 DJs in the world at the moment according to DJ Mag (English DJ Magazine).

Martin has become one of the top DJS in the world, with hard work and his mindset, taking chances, being different, being true to himself and  of course because of his huge talent. He is a person who has a high demand for quality, perfection and control. Not only for his own, but also from his partners.
All this is very reminiscent of our approach as a company, that is why Martin Jensen and Linde+Larsen do a good match.

“When I started as a DJ, I was searching the market for packaging solutions for my equipment. It was almost impossible to find a solution to my budget and needs. I started designing and developing my own suitcases, however, it stopped quickly as I do not have the talent or time for designing and developing cases. tells Martin Jensen and continues.“

“It has been difficult for me for a long time to find a partner who could deliver the Suitcases and Flightcases that comply with my requirements for protection and design. When I travel around the world with my equipment, I need to know that my equipment will arrive safely, because I do not have backup equipment with me”.

The Meeting.
“Through several specially selected ambassadors, we have an ambition to share our work and be the ones that others look towards to find inspiration. Martin Jensen and his profile fits perfectly with ours and we share many of the same ambitions,” says Thomas Søgaard.

“I contacted Martin through my network and invited him for a meeting with no commitment, a meeting about our ideas and plans for a possible collaboration.
Martin accepted the invitation and my expectation of Martin as a person and as a talented and ambitious young man was confirmed. We agreed on a partnership, and we went ahead with the whole process,” says Thomas.

“I have been looking for suitcases and flightcases that could both accommodate my equipment, protect it and at the same time have a cool design. My meeting with the Linde+Larsen development department gave me everything I have dreamed of and a little bit more. The development department is incredibly solution-oriented and at the same time they understand how to make a cool design without compromising on the most important thing – that my equipment is protected “, says Martin.

Same equipment fewer cases
The most important thing for Martin is that his equipment always arrives safely.
Martin’s equipment is very high on price, at the same time he travels without backup equipment and it would be catastrophic if Martin had to cancel a concert because the packaging did not comply with the requirements and would arrive destroyed.

Imagine that Martin’s big online concert on the roof of AKKC in Aalborg, where he celebrated that Denmark reopened, had to be cancelled because his equipment was broken.

On the evening itself, Martin Jensen was number 10 of all streamed events in gaming and music worldwide, and it would be a disaster if that such a concert has to be cancelled if Martin’s equipment was destroyed in transport, and he would not be deliverable to the parties he loves”

“We have delivered several different Suitcases and Flightcases to Martin, all made 100% according to Martin requirements, all 100% different, and all 100% with love to our work.”

“With the solutions that Linde+Larsen has made for me; I have fewer suitcases than before. The Linde+Larsen team has managed to optimize the design so much that I have the same equipment in less Suitcases, and at the same time, the Suitcases are customized according to my requirements and provide a quick overview of my equipment. Now I do not have to worry about whether my equipment is damaged during transport or whether I lack equipment, and then the design is cool – there is no doubt that it is my Suitcases “, Martin laughs.

In conclusion, Thomas says “We know that Martin Jensen will be happy with the solutions we have chosen together, and that this is the start of a long collaboration. We are looking forward to Martin Jensen coming up with more projects for us, where we must do what we do best.”

We listen, inspire & produce to perfection”.

Both Linde+Larsen and Martin Jensen will share more photos and stories from their collaboration on their social media on an ongoing basis.

Foam waste creates value for the National Museum of Denmark.

Linde+Larsen continues their sustainability program and delivers foam waste to the National Museum of Denmark.

The initiative began after the Museum contacted Linde+Larsen to investigate the possibility of a foam type that could be used for all their art. A foam that must not damage the artefacts and must be as clean and inactive as possible.

Plastazote®, a foam type from the manufacturer Zotefoams is the purest cross-linked PE foam on the market. The foam is nitrogen blown, a gas which primarily consists of air and is colorless, tasteless, and odorless, and is therefore an inactive foam type.

“The National Museum of Denmark tested our Plastazote® over a longer period and approved that the foam could be used to protect all their valuable artefacts, both during storage and transport,”.

“Only 6% of our art objects are exhibited at a time. 94% of our art is stored in various locations around Denmark, says Frederik Rosner Palm, Museum Assistant at the Museum, and continues; We have begun the process of repackaging all our art objects, registering them, and taking pictures of them, so that everything is ready for us to move into our storage building of all items for the Museum and the Royal Library in Frederikssund named “Fællesmagasin”. We hope that we can start to move into the “Fællesmagasin” next summer, and our collaboration with Linde+Larsen has a big role in this project”.

The storage building for the National Museum of Denmark and the Royal Library is 17,300 sqm and will secure the cultural heritage. The building contains magazines divided into three types, and with the construction it is ensured that the cultural heritage is stored under safe conditions in an optimal indoor climate, which ensures the art in the future. Today, the Danish art treasure is distributed over many different locations, and often in older buildings where conditions are not optimal to ensure Danish history.

“We have been testing Plastazote® for a long time, and there is no doubt that it is the right type of foam to protect our art treasures. We get Plastazote® from Linde+Larsen, which is cut into bricks of max. 4×4 cm and when we receive the foam, we freeze the foam down to -40 degrees to ensure that harmful animals are not present “, says Frederik.

Together we take care of the environment and save money

“We are constantly working to reduce and recycle the waste material we have, and after the National Museum of Denmark approved Plastazote®, we made the agreement that waste of Plastazote® is cut into smaller pieces that the Museum receives. The National Museum does not pay for the foam, only for the man-hours we spend cutting, checking, and packing the foam. In this way, we reduce waste and recycle materials that otherwise would not be used,”.

As a state-owned institution, we always offer our projects to different companies, but the prices we have from Linde+Larsen are 3-4 times lower than the second cheapest offer we received for this project. A good price is important, but it is also important that the foam we need for storage is a waste product. Our collaboration with Linde+Larsen gives us the best foam at a good price, and at the same time we do not burden the environment with starting a production. It is Win/Win “, says Frederik.

WIN/WIN for both parties.

Linde+Larsen have focus on their green profile and have presented “green” foam types such as recycled foam and plant-based foam.

“Both of our newly introduced foams cannot protect our art history,” says Thomas, and adding: It is important to understand as a consumer and debater that foams are products that are a necessity in our society, also in the future. And that you cannot always choose the bio-based products or products that are made from recycled materials.

We must understand the need and requirements for the project, and in this context Plastazote® is the right foam to use. What we need to pay extra attention to is how much we burden the environment and reduce our waste and for this collaboration we precisely create this win/win situation. We have foam waste from other productions in Plastazote®, and with this waste we create value for the National Museum. It is win/win that makes a difference”.

Plastazote® is approved by the National Museum to look after art treasures dating back to the Stone Age. Plastazote® is also used by the National Museum to look after organic finds, such as bone finds from humans and animals. As an inactive foam type, Plastazote® can protect our history for the next many years without the art being damaged or the foam losing their stability.

“We have millions of art treasures, and it can be storage in decades before we review all our art,” says Frederik, and continues; We are in the major process, to register everything and take pictures of everything before we move into Fællesmagasin. In this process, there are also some of our art that need to be repackaged and better protected. Previously, we used star-shaped packaging chips in Polystyrene, which we all know from when we e.g., buy a new TV or receive items packed in boxes where there is little air around.

Package chips are a cheap product, but they are not optimal for protecting our history. We have continuously changed packaging chips because they lose their stability and effect, but Plastazote® does not.  By using Plastazote®, we also save man-hours, and we know that our art are safe and can be packed down for many years without us having to check the art and change the foam”.

“We will definitely continue to work on using even more of our foam waste, because it can create value for many.” We are incredibly happy about our collaboration with the National Museum of Denmark. Together, we reduce the use of raw materials, and use foam waste instead.

In my foam network we learn from each other’s experiences, we have groups where we discuss the foam of the future and how we can make a difference for the environment at the same time.

I have just told my network about this collaboration, and I hope that they will copy it, so that we can help to ensure that even more foam waste gets value again”.

To show and tell more about who we are, we will in the future work with different partners who have the same requirements, values and professionalism like us,”.

TheTravelBook – a green lifestyle and travel blog
Linde+Larsen uses the best materials and is constantly looking for better and more environmentally friendly foam products.

In recent months, Linde+Larsen has presented recycled and plant-based foams, in order to meet the markets and their own high demands to have the least possible impact on the environment.

Karoline and Rasmus are the young couple behind the travel blog TheTravelBook, who focus on sustainability and quality.

For the past 5 years, TheTravelBook has shared their everyday life on social media, and for the past 2.5 years, TheTravelBook has focused on a sustainable lifestyle, without compromising on luxury and great experiences. Especially on Instagram, TheTravelBook has great success, where +25,000 loyal followers are engrossed in the beautiful virtual universe and the good stories.

“TheTravelBook is a setup where the virtual of the story takes up a lot of space. Rasmus is a super talented photographer, which is clearly seen on their social media as well as their book “Staycation in Denmark” or their posters.

Like many other photographers, Rasmus has high quality and expensive equipment. Furthermore, their equipment is their way of life, and should therefore be protected by quality solutions. We have delivered 3 unique cases to TheTravelBook, so their equipment is always well protected on their travels and locations in Denmark and the rest of the world,”.

Make the impossible possible
“For the past 5 years, we have tried many different cases and solutions, but none of the solutions have lived up to our requirements.

Previously, we had 5 cases for our photo equipment, but because Linde+Larsen has managed to create unique solutions that optimize the space and use of the packaging for us, we can now have all our equipment in 3 cases. We never thought it was possible, and it is an advantage for us when we travel so much” says Rasmus from TheTravelBook and adds “our new cases meet all our needs and at the same time Linde+Larsen made a nice design.

We had never thought it was possible, and therefore we must state that Linde+Larsen has managed to make the impossible possible for us.”

Quality and durability
Sustainability is a priority for Linde+Larsen, and the plant-based foam type, EcoFoam, has recently been presented.

EcoFoam is 100% environmentally friendly, it is biodegradable and compostable. EcoFoam can protect products and objects during transport like the traditional plastic packaging foam.

EcoFoam meets all standards for biodegradability in the soil and water-based environments.

Read more about this in our article, link at the bottom of the article.

The foam used in the unique cases for TheTravelBook is the purest cross-linked PE foam on the market, Plastazote®, and is produced by the European manufacturer Zotefoams based in England.

Their foam for the European market is produced in Europe, thus minimizing CO2 emissions from the transport of materials to a minimum.

The foam is nitrogen blown, a gas which primarily consists of air and which is colorless, tasteless, and not least odorless, and therefore has a property that is described as inactive.

Unlike foam products from other foam producers that can emit odors or possibly corrode items that are inside the foam, Plastazote® does not emit anything.

And Plastazote® foam has high technical properties in terms of tensile and compressive strength which makes it the leading product in the world.

Plastazote® is available in different densities, colors, structures, and is used in all segments.

Contact us for more information.

“We have a strong focus on sustainability and our climate footprint, which is why our attention is on recyclable, recycled and plant-based foam products.

We suggest the solutions that provide the most optimal function and with the least possible climate footprint for our customers.

But we must remember in the calculation, that the materials we protect also have a value and also have had a climate footprint.

These products must be protected so that they do not break during transport and thus do not have to be replaced by a new product which will give an unnecessary additional impact on the climate.

Therefore, we must also compromise sometimes and use products that have a larger climate footprint than others, as the overall result and risk speak to itself.

Therefore, quality and durability are an equally important point to talk about in this context.

TheTravelBook also focuses on quality, and our cases with unique foam devices are always of the highest quality and with a durability beyond the usual,”.

“When we met with Linde+Larsen and were presented with their selection, we agreed to use Plastazote® instead of a solution in a recycled foam product.

Our need for protection of our equipment could be met much better with the cross-linked PE foam Plastazote®.

For us, the quality and durability of our things are as important as sustainability. With the use of quality products such as Linde+Larsens, our equipment can last a lifetime, and we avoid burdening the environment by changing cases and foam.

Our equipment is high on price and has left a much larger climate footprint than the foam, and if this is destroyed, then overall it will mean a larger footprint, what we want as small as possible.

Also our work depends on our equipment, and that it arrives safe to place, so the quality of the packaging is a MUST for us.

That is why we chose a better and more durable material in our interior and wish to work with Linde+Larsen” tells Rasmus.

The future
Linde+Larsen continues their green journey by searching the market for recycled, recyclable, and natural materials where it makes sense.

Linde+Larsen expects to be able to present several new environmentally friendly foam types this year.

“In the future, if we need to replace something of our equipment or produce more cases, we look forward to see how far Linde+Larsen has come on the green journey and if it is made possible to make the same high-quality foam from plant-based foam type instead of plastic as it does today,” concludes Rasmus.

We know that TheTravelBook will be happy with the solutions we have chosen together. We hope that this is the start of a long collaboration, where we as a company will learn much more about the green lifestyle and the responsibility, we all must take part in.

We cannot avoid the climate pressure, but we can do everything to reduce it.

LIFE Mobil Lab
The science education initiative, LIFE, has a mobile laboratory with foam solutions from Linde+Larsen and NordicFoam by Linde+Larsen.

At the end of 2020, the Novo Nordisk Foundation came with the big news, that the LIFE Foundation is being established as an independent foundation.

Who is the LIFE FOUNDATION?
LIFE stands for Learning, Ideas, Fascination and Experiments.

LIFE is a nationwide and non-profit teaching initiative within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The LIFE foundation is supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

LIFE’s mission is to strengthen knowledge and fascination for science, for children and young people in Denmark. The LIFE foundation is offering schools, science courses for free.

Mobile laboratory
The LIFE Foundation offers to visit schools with their mobile laboratory, also called the LIFE Mobile Lab. The LIFE Mobil Lab contains a state-of-the-art laboratory facility that is not normally available at the schools. With LIFE Mobil Lab, students get the right environment to be inspired, and at the same time there is plenty of opportunity to experiment and be immersed in science.

“When we had to help the LIFE Foundation to arrange drawers and cupboards in the mobile laboratory, we were completely engrossed in the fantastic setting. It has been one of the funniest and atypical projects in 2020, because there were no standard solutions, and at the same time it should be easy and practical for both the LIFE Foundation and the students. Our entire development team behind Linde+Larsen and NordicFoam worked hard on this project. Fortunately, we have a broad and long experience in custom solutions, and with our know-how and the LIFE Foundation’s good description of wishes and requirements, we delivered a particularly good result “.

The LIFE Mobil Lab can visit schools again, when it is possible due to Covid19, and from fall 2021, the schools can also visit the LIFE Campus in Lyngby.

Linde+Larsen present their next environment friendly foam type EcoFoam

EcoFoam is 100% environment friendly, it is biodegradable and compostable. EcoFoam can protect products and goods during transport, at the same terms as the traditional plastic packaging foam for some purposes.

“In January this year, we presented our first PE recycled foam type PE22RE (minimum 65% recycled), and at same time we said that as a responsible converter and expert in packaging, we would continue to reduce the use of plastic in packaging. Now, 2 months later, we can present our first 100% plant-based packaging foam”.

EcoFoam can replace the traditional plastic packaging foam in several projects

“EcoFoam is resistant and absorbing like the traditional plastic packaging foam at the right conditions. At the same time, EcoFoam is perfect for discharge-sensitive products and resistant to thermal fluctuations. Many of our customers focus on sustainability, and with the great attention that PE22RE received on the market, we are confident that EcoFoam will be a great success with our customers,”.

EcoFoam is an ISO 14000 certified foam type which consists of premium quality proprietary starch. EcoFoam is biodegradable in various environments as per ASTM D5988 (soil), ASTM D5338/ISO14855 (composting) and ASTM D6691 (aqueous and marine). If EcoFoam is being disposed in one of these environments, the foam will be the nutrient / food source for the microorganisms and enter the microbial food chain.

EcoFoam meets all standards for biodegradability in soil and water-based environments set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

Linde+Larsen continues the green journey

“We will continue to have focus on sustainability and be a leader in sustainability. We want to be the professional partner who not only can make the perfect packaging solution for protection of our customers products. We will also be able to meet our customers’ demands for sustainability, without compromising on protection,”.

Linde+Larsen is Europe’s leading manufacturer of interiors for cases and boxes fitted with foam materials. Linde+Larsen has more than 30 years of personal competence in technical foam for all types of interiors in cases and boxes.

NordicFoam – By Linde + Larsen is a subdivision of Linde+Larsen and will be the leader in technical foam for many segments, including packaging foam for purposes other than cases and boxes.
